A plastic desk clock ticking away. I placed the microphone realllyyyyy ridiculously close to the clock to try and minimize room-sound, so hopefully this will help someone somewhere! :). This is a perfect 1/10 second long 1khz tone like it is also used in film countdowns ;) u can also use it for a censor-tone: just copy&paste it again and again and ull get a longer 1khz tone without any jumps or hoverings.

Slightly better version of sound 678955. This 100-second cymbal roll is done using a hi-hat. Edited in audacity 3. 2. 4 at 48 khz with filter curve effects and fades.

Brownian noise sounding like a flying plane at 3×10^4 feet above the earth. . . I created that in audacity! final peak amplitude: 0. 75000 (linear) -2. 49877 db. I applied a bunch of filter curves to make this 90 second loop, normalized to 75% volume. I started with 120 seconds, then made it 90 seconds. Estimated start pitch: d2 (75. 000 hz). Because of the 1024 mb limit, i can't upload the 108-minute version (2 channels, 24-bit, 48000 hz costs 1. 74 gib). Sorry. The final sample rate is 48000 hz, 24-bit wav. Wall clock ticking. The sound is a field recording of a german made fauch wall clock. You hear the tick-tock sound of mechanical movement in a quiet room. I used a zoom h4n digital recorder to record the stereo sound. Enjoy. C gillespie sound library.

This is a recording of an office paper shredder starting up. This model of paper shredder has a button that you can press to run it briefly in reverse, in order to clear paper jams and clean the blades. If the shredder hasn't been used in a while, it takes several seconds to start, and makes a cool noise while doing so. The click at the start of the recording is the switch being pressed. You then hear the motor struggling to start up for about five seconds, and finally it comes up to speed. The high-frequency crackling you hear, particularly once the motor is running smoothly, comes from bits of paper still rolling around in the blades (easy to convert into a campfire or rain). There's another click at the end when the reverse button is released. I uploaded this because several parts of the recording sounded like they'd lend themselves to morphing in various ways to create other interesting noises. Recorded with a hand-held zoom h4n, stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, with the built-in mics, positioned about six inches above the rotating blades of the shredder.
